Thailand with Free Domestic Flights in September 2025

Thailand's Free Domestic Flights Promotion for International Visitors

Thailand is rolling out a significant tourism initiative to entice international visitors with free domestic flights. This promotion, targeted for September 2025, aims to revitalize the country's tourism sector, which has seen a 7% dip in numbers. The program, backed by a THB 700 million budget, offers roughly 200,000 foreign tourists the chance to enjoy complimentary or heavily subsidized internal flights, provided they haven't already booked domestic travel.

Why This Matters

The primary goal of this initiative is to distribute tourism more evenly across the country. By offering free domestic flights, Thailand hopes to encourage visitors to explore beyond the popular destinations like Bangkok and Phuket, and discover lesser-known gems. This strategy not only helps in spreading economic benefits but also provides a more authentic and diverse travel experience for visitors.

Eligibility and Timeline

The promotion is set to run from September to November 2025. International visitors flying into Thailand during this period can avail themselves of free or heavily subsidized domestic flights. However, to qualify, tourists must not have pre-booked their domestic flights. This condition ensures that the promotion genuinely attracts new travelers to various parts of the country.

Six Domestic Airlines On Board

Six domestic airlines have already signed up to participate in this program. This widespread participation is crucial for the success of the initiative, as it ensures that travelers have multiple options for their internal journeys. By targeting 200,000 foreign tourists, the initiative aims to have a significant impact on both the number of visitors and the distribution of tourism revenue. This move is expected to support local economies and communities that rely on tourism for their livelihoods.
